In a nutshell
Edelweiss is one of India’s largest diversified financial services groups. For 5 years, Edelweiss grew at 10x. Edelweiss had a large number of custom applications with limited standardisation. This posed issues from a statutory audit perspective. Edelweiss needed a centrally controlled system to monitor all applications and maintain logs for audit and forensic tracking purpose.
Challenges, not problems
That rate of growth needed multiple teams working on various technology requirements and quick rolling out of business applications. And all this had to be done without losing control and oversight.
Solutions, not ideas
Merce proposed Bitlogg based on ELK (ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana) stack to collect log messages from various apps and store them in a central repository. The solution is very intuitive with user friendly search and query interface with access controls. It also has advanced features like AD integration and dashboard for quick view of the health of the system.
Now that’s value
A two-member tech team worked on the ELK stack (ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana). They studied the applications which were using various Java and DotNet versions which needed to be monitored along with AD integration and role based access and control. The complete solution was delivered within 6 months with zero downtime and minimum modifications to existing applications. All applications are now centrally logged and client is fully compliant with audit requirements. The solution is scalable and provides for seamless integration for any future custom/off-shelf applications addition to client landscape.
