NSDL is one of the largest depositories in the world with 11.7 million demat accounts worth over USD 953.7 billion. NSDL aims at developing settlement solutions that increase efficiency, minimise risk and reduce cost

Challenges, not problems

NSDL needed deployment of an e-voting product in time for financial year end closing in 2015, that is, 2 months for launching the product in the market.

Solutions, not ideas

Merce proposed an extensible and scalable Tablet based solution to meet the client requirements. Key design elements were:

• Presentation layer based on ThemeForest templates. Ionic framework was used for the mobile solution.
• Business logic layer based on PHP with Laravel application.
• Database layer based on PostgreSQL.

E-voting application deployed to handle voting for AGM for publicly listed companies managing direct voting, proxy voting, voting based on shareholding and voting for group companies. We delivered a robust scalable product that enabled the client to capture significant market share. The project continued for 18 more months with more features.
